General eSIM Questions
What is an eSIM?
An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM card built into your device. Unlike a physical SIM card, you don’t need to insert or remove it—it’s already embedded in your phone, allowing you to activate a mobile network digitally.
What is the difference between an eSIM and a physical SIM?
An eSIM works 100% digitally and is embedded into your device's hardware, while a physical SIM needs to be inserted manually.
What can I do with an eSIM?
With an eSIM, you can:
- ✔ Connect to a mobile network
- ✔ Browse the internet

You can track and top up your eSIM using the link provided in your email. If you’re running low, simply purchase a top-up package or another eSIM to stay connected.
Can I make phone calls with an eSIM?
Roamaly eSIMs are data-only, meaning they do not support regular voice calls or SMS. However, you can use WhatsApp, FaceTime, Skype, and other apps to make calls and send messages.
Can I use the same eSIM in another country?
It depends on the type of eSIM you purchased:
- 🌍 Local eSIM – Covers one country
- 🌍 Regional eSIM – Covers multiple countries in a region
- 🌍 Global eSIM – Works across multiple regions
Can I set up a personal hotspot with an eSIM?
Yes! Once activated, you can enable hotspot tethering and share your eSIM’s internet with other devices.
Can I turn off my eSIM?
Yes. You can enable or disable your eSIM at any time in your phone’s settings.
Should I switch on Data Roaming when using an eSIM?
Yes! Make sure to turn on Data Roaming:

eSIM Delivery & Activation
How do I get my eSIM after payment?
Once your payment is confirmed, you will receive an email with your QR code.
📌 Check your spam folder if you haven’t received it within a minute.
Can multiple phones scan the same QR code?
No. The QR code is unique to your device and can only be scanned once. However, you can rescan it on the same device if needed.
What if I lost my eSIM QR code?
Check your email inbox or contact Roamaly Support for assistance.
Will my physical SIM still work while my eSIM is installed?
Yes! Your physical SIM remains active. We recommend turning off Data Roaming on your physical SIM and ensuring it’s enabled for your Roamaly eSIM to avoid extra charges.
