Roamaly vs Nomad — What We Can Compare, and What We Will Not Guess
What Roamaly sells in Europe and Asia, dated from our own catalogue, and the two things we have actually measured about Nomad — including the one that favours them.
Nomad is one of the eSIM providers you will meet repeatedly if you shop around — it turns up for the big destination searches, and its destination pages are among the most thorough in the category.
This page is written by Roamaly, and here is the unusual part up front: we are not going to compare prices with Nomad, because we have not verified a single Nomad price. What we have is our own catalogue, read on a stated date, and a careful measurement of their Europe page taken on 25 August 2026. That is a narrower comparison than you probably wanted. It is the one we can actually stand behind, and the section headings below say which is which.
What Roamaly sells
Two shapes, not one. A Day Pass gives you a daily allowance across however many days you choose. A fixed bundle gives you a total valid for a period, pooled across the trip rather than reset each morning. On Europe the split is 4 Day Passes and 10 fixed bundles; across the six destinations we sampled it runs about one third to two thirds (read 20 October 2026).
No unlimited plan, anywhere. Zero unlimited plans out of the 99 we counted across six destinations on 20 October 2026. If unmetered data is what you want, buy it from a provider that sells it.
Prices, read from our own catalogue on 20 October 2026:
| Destination | Plans | From | 1 GB/day Day Pass | 10 GB bundle | Dearest |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Europe — 34 countries on one plan | 14 | $2 | $3/day | $20 | $73 |
| Thailand | 19 | $1 | $2/day | $10 | $84 ¹ |
| Japan | 18 | $1 | $2/day | $10 | $84 ¹ |
¹ a regional Asia-20 bundle that covers the country as part of a wider footprint, not a single-country plan.

What we measured about Nomad — and what we did not
On 25 August 2026 we measured Nomad's Europe page against our own, element by element, as part of a competitor census. Here is everything that produced.
| Element | Roamaly /destinations/eu-30 | Nomad /europe-eSIM |
|---|---|---|
| Visible words | 329 | 1,357 |
| Headings | 16 | 27 |
| Visible FAQ questions | 7 | 1 |
AggregateRating in schema | none | 4.3 from 42,243 ratings |
| Structured data types emitted | 19 | 13 |
FAQPage schema | yes | no |
AggregateOffer schema | no | yes |
MerchantReturnPolicy / OfferShippingDetails | yes — neither measured competitor emits these | no |
Two of those rows are not in our favour and they stay. Their Europe page carries about four times our word count, and their 42,243 ratings sit against our five reviews sitewide and no Trustpilot profile at all. That is the single largest gap between us and anyone in this category, and it is a gap in demonstrable trust rather than in product.
What the census did not measure, and this page therefore does not claim: Nomad's prices, how many countries their plans cover, whether they sell unlimited data, their fair-use terms, their hotspot policy, or their refund policy. We did not check any of it, so we do not state any of it. Their own site is the right place for all six.
One more honest line about method. We also recorded which providers turn up for the big destination searches: Nomad appeared in the result set for Europe eSIM and Thailand eSIM tourist, and did not appear for best eSIM India or Caribbean eSIM travel data plan. That is presence, from a single US-weighted fetch — not a ranking, and not a claim about who is "better at SEO".
Where Nomad looks like the better buy
- If you want a provider with a long public review record. 42,243 ratings is a real signal and we have nothing comparable. For a buyer choosing between two companies they have never used, that matters.
- If you want unlimited data. We do not sell it. We do not know whether Nomad does, so this is really "if you want unlimited, neither this page nor we can help you".
- If depth of destination content is how you choose. Their Europe page is substantially more thorough than ours, and we are not going to pretend otherwise while we are the ones with 329 words on the page.
Where Roamaly is the stronger choice
- Both plan shapes from one provider. Steady usage suits a Day Pass; an uneven trip suits a bundle, where the data pools. You are not picking a provider in order to get a plan shape.
- One Europe plan, 34 countries, named. Austria to the United Kingdom, including Switzerland, Norway and Iceland, which are not in the EU (coverage read 19 October 2026).
- No app required. You buy in a browser, the QR code arrives by email, and the dashboard runs in a browser.
- A limit that is a number, not a policy. You know your allowance before you buy, daily or total.
- Returns and delivery terms published in our structured data —
MerchantReturnPolicyandOfferShippingDetails, which neither competitor we measured emits at all.
How to choose
If you already know you want unlimited data, or you choose by review volume, that decision does not need this page.
If you want to know what a trip will cost before you buy it, and your usage is uneven enough that a daily cap or a pooled total is a real distinction, that is the choice we are built for. Start with the destination page, which is the live price rather than a number in an article.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Roamaly cheaper than Nomad?
We do not know, and we will not guess. We have never verified a Nomad price. Our own prices are above, dated — Europe from $2 and Thailand and Japan from $1 on 20 October 2026. Compare them against Nomad's own site rather than against a figure in anyone's comparison article.
Does Roamaly have unlimited data?
No. Every plan we counted across six destinations on 20 October 2026 is metered, by a daily allowance or by a total bundle. If unlimited is a requirement, buy from a provider that sells it.
Why does this page have so few facts about Nomad?
Because we only publish competitor facts we measured ourselves. We measured their Europe page in August 2026, which tells you about their content and their review volume, and nothing about their pricing. A page that filled the gap from memory would read more confidently and be worth less.
Do I need an app to use Roamaly?
No. Buying, installing and managing all work in a browser, and the QR code arrives by email.
Can I have a Roamaly eSIM and another provider's eSIM on the same phone?
Yes. Modern phones hold several eSIM profiles and you choose which one carries data. Travellers do this routinely when trying a new provider on a trip where the old one already works.
How many countries does one Roamaly plan cover?
It depends on the plan. Our Europe plan covers 34 countries on one profile; a single-country plan covers one; the regional Asia and Global bundles cover wider footprints and appear on the destination pages they include.
What happens when my allowance runs out?
On a Day Pass it resets the next morning. On a fixed bundle it does not — the total is for the whole period. Either way you can buy another plan or top up an eligible eSIM from the dashboard, and there is no overage charge.
